Toi-Appe@l, un programma educativo europeo per realizzare progetti comuni, grazie alla costruzione di reti istituzionali - Formazione linguistica

EXPECTED RESULTS

The project aims at the following goals:

  • to adapt some specific and limited portions of the ALPEC project in the three original languages (It, En., Fr.). First of all information on school systems will be updated and changes in its objective and factual aspects will be reported. A short presentation of University education and of teacher initial training in the three countries will be added, as University education, at all levels, is more and more frequently the leading character and promoter of transnational cooperation activities (so that its operators have become a new target for our product); suggestions will be also introduced to make it possible the use of social web new resources named “web 2.0” for distance communication;
  • besides these limited adaptations, a new product will be created in the three original languages (It., En., Fr.): parallel modules, organized and conceived to train the new public of the third sector, who organizes and manages transnational cooperation projects;
  • another transfer of innovation and adaptation activity will be performed producing in two new languages (Spanish and German) the 5 original modules. We are talking of transfer and not of translation, as (like in the three original modules) there won’t be full coincidence between the contents and discourse strategies employed to achieve the same communicative objectives in the different languages/cultures; every language has its own ways to express communicative functions and no literal translation can take these differences into account;
  • a new booklet in Arab will be produced. In this case only the first module (dealing with introducing oneself) will be fully adapted and transferred into the target language. The second module (dealing with the professional and cultural contexts of the educational systems in the Arab countries overlooking the Mediterranean) will be more oriented on the acquisition of knowledge than on the acquisition of skills, as it would be misleading to set as an aim for beginners in the study of the Arab language the acquisition of competences related to the performance of argumentative strategies or effective negotiation. This booklet’s objective will be the acquisition of basic knowledge of rules and codes of communication in order to make users able to get in touch with others and build up a positive relationship. Three sections of the booklet (addressed to English-, French- and Italian-speaking users) will include, in the three languages, some basic information, essential to get in touch with some Arab-speaking cultures;
  • the ALPEC booklet devoted to AUDIT will be partially modified, in order to adapt it to the gathering of data related to the linguistic needs of the third sector, which represents a new context and a new public (and a rather mixed one), whose characteristics are obviously different from those of the original target of school teachers.

It’s clear the adaptation of materials will play a major role in the project, but the nature of the original product won’t be prejudiced or modified in any way. Integrating and taking into consideration the present developments in the field of transnational cooperation and projects, the products will meet more effectively the needs of varied and complex target publics. Besides that, once the product will be open to the public and will circulate, dissemination (which already played a major role in the first phase of the project) will be resumed and we’ll have the possibility to improve and enlarge it, thanks to activities at the same time more targeted and more widespread, as dissemination will take place in 5 different countries.
